DEPARTMENT POLICY — PUBLIC RECORD

PRIVACY POLICY

How JDOT handles information you provide and content recorded during dispatches.

Last updated: 2026-04-26. This policy may be updated as JDOT grows. Material changes will be noted on this page.

Information you give JDOT

When you submit a dispatch request, JDOT collects the information you provide: your name, phone number, email if provided, service-location info, photos, the description and details of the job, and any media you upload through the form.

Information JDOT records during a dispatch

Every JDOT dispatch is recorded with video and audio through body, handheld, mounted, phone, or other operational cameras. JDOT also captures before/after photos. Recording is part of how JDOT operates and is not optional. Full recording policy: /recording-field-reports.

How JDOT uses information

JDOT uses your information and the recorded content to: quote your job, schedule and dispatch the crew, take payment, support safety, document scope and condition, train operators, communicate with you, and produce Field Reports — JDOT's public dispatch videos.

Who JDOT shares information with

JDOT shares information only as needed to complete the work or comply with the law: payment processors; site, hosting, and communication tools; recycling, donation, and disposal partners as needed; and legal or safety disclosures when required.

Public content and your privacy options

Reporting citizens may request that identifying or sensitive details be obscured before publication of any Field Report. This is not a final-edit approval process. JDOT retains editorial control over Field Reports.

Default privacy protections

JDOT does not publish children, personal documents, house numbers, license plates, family photos, medical, legal, or financial papers, valuables, or exact-address indicators in any Field Report. Field Reports are titled by city and service type, not by address.

Children

JDOT does not intentionally feature minors in any published content.

Sensitive documents and personal items

Sensitive paperwork, financial, medical, and legal records, and intimate family items are not shown publicly. During estate cleanouts these items are typically set aside for executor or family review and never become content.

Retention

Raw footage is kept privately as long as JDOT operationally needs it for documentation, dispute prevention, and content production. Published Field Reports remain online unless removed.

No sale of personal information

JDOT does not sell personal information.
