Pricing model
Flat-rate, quoted from a photo before dispatch. The number quoted is the number paid (pending no scope change).
Volume-based — priced by truck fraction (1/8, 1/4, 1/2, full). Crew measures on-site, which creates pricing ambiguity before they arrive.
Starting price
$300 (Class A — 1–3 items).
Typically $150–$200 minimum, but that's a floor not a full job — real jobs land at $400–$800+ once the truck fills.
Who shows up
Local Clay County crew. You're talking to the operator, not a call center.
Franchise crew, dispatched through a national call center. Each franchise sets its own actual rates.
Pickup location
Most anywhere on the property — basements, backyards, tight doorways, upper floors. No curb-drag required; harder-access pickups may factor into the quote.
Typically the same — but confirm at booking since national chains sometimes charge extra for "stairs" or "long carries."
Service area focus
Clay County only — Orange Park, Oakleaf Plantation, Fleming Island, Green Cove Springs, Keystone Heights, Middleburg, Penney Farms. Short drives mean faster response and no travel surcharges.
National chains often dispatch from outside Clay County, which can mean longer arrival windows for Clay County jobs.
Response time
Typically within the hour during operating windows. Quotes come back by text.
Booking windows are usually 2-hour arrival slots scheduled days in advance.
Hours
Weekend operations only (Saturday–Sunday 07:00–18:00 ET). Weekday operations are not currently active.
Typically weekday coverage with limited weekend availability.
Donation & reuse
Usable items routed to Habitat ReStore, Salvation Army, Goodwill, or St. Vincent de Paul before landfill.
Most chains advertise donation partnerships, but the rate of items actually donated varies by crew and day.
Refrigerant handling
Fridges, freezers, AC units routed to a qualified recycling facility that handles refrigerant.
Same for most major chains — standard practice industry-wide.
Hidden fees
None. Flat rate is the full price, disclosed before dispatch. (JDOT does not haul tires at all.)
Some franchises charge add-ons for mattresses, TVs, long carries, or stairs. Read the final invoice carefully.
Brand vibe
Government-department parody — dispatch language, zone codes, citations. Dry, direct, no upsell.
Bright uniforms, upbeat sales scripts, franchise branding.
